Within the P3 Vehicle Engineering group, the Vehicle Integration (VI) department is responsible for the management and delivery of customer attributes, requirements cascade, prototype properties and validation activities. Reporting directly to the Lead Attribute Engineer, the Technical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating regular VI-led meetings, relevant senior technical reviews, issue resolution and metrics for the Vehicle Integration department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical co-ordination of deliverables and tasks for the three core pillars of Vehicle Integration - Vehicle Attributes, Prototype Properties, Requirements Definition & Delivery
  • Co-ordination of issue management for Attributes, Prototype Properties and Requirements, ensuring that issues are managed through the triage process, issue owners are closing issues and raising containments where required in line with Programme timing requirements
  • Co-ordinate gateway inputs for the department in line with Programme timing requirements.  Support the team leads to ensure submissions present an accurate Engineering status and are to the correct quality standard
  • Raise VI department Purchase Requests for items such as test equipment, benchmarking, software licenses, service providers etc.
  • Tracks spend versus allocated budget for the department, ensuring latest status is communicated to the Finance team, and the risks and opportunities process is being driven
  • Work with team leads to create & maintain meaningful and clear KPIs relevant to Vehicle Integration to drive the activities of the engineering team and to feed into the Programme team. 
  • Technically understand the open issues associated with the KPI status and work with the team Leads to drive mitigation plans to resolve open issues
  • Co-ordinate and drive approvals required for change management and engineering sign off, including providing a look ahead for requirements versus relevant timing plans
  • Support the team leads with application of Microsoft Teams meeting discipline including setting and adhering to agendas, priorities and capturing of minutes and actions.


DECISION MAKING AUTHORITIES

  • Approval of satisfactory task/issue closure and implementation
  • Creation and management of relevant KPIs to optimize delivery of the department's deliverables

 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience of vehicle program delivery is desirable
  • Technical whole-vehicle knowledge desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a “Start-up” business is desirable
  • Ability to manage data and create KPIs
  • Experience using Teamcenter, Jira, Jama and Smartsheet desirable
